TotalEnergies reaffirms its commitment to develop offshore wind in Germany while looking for resolution for NSE2 project

Berlin, June 11, 2026 – As stated in June 2025, TotalEnergies launched a strategic review of its German offshore wind concessions, obtained between 2023 and 2025, considering the evolution of the offshore wind context and the longer delays and uncertainty in the connection timelines announced by German transmission system operators.

Following this review, TotalEnergies engaged in discussions with the German authorities to define the conditions under which it could return the concession for its NordseeEnergies 2 (NSE2) project as this license is negatively impacted by delays and uncertainties.

These discussions have not yet been successful and in order to preserve its rights under the concession, the Company has submitted today the permit application for NSE2 and has honored the payment of the first 10% installment as per the license contract.

In parallel, TotalEnergies will pursue the appropriate avenues to seek compensation for the negative impact resulting from the delays and uncertainty relating to the grid connection timelines that affect the NS2 project.

TotalEnergies remains committed to the development of the other offshore wind concessions it owns and more broadly to the development of its integrated power footprint in Germany.
